In a world overflowing with tasks, expectations, and endless to-do lists, we offer ourselves something increasingly rare: unapologetical time and space to do nothing.

Invitation to be

This is not a retreat filled with activities from morning to night.

Do Nothing Weekend is an invitation to slow down and inhabit a different rhythm. Together we will create a temporary community where rest, simplicity, creativity, nature, and connection are valued over productivity and achievement.

The program will include a few gentle invitations throughout the weekend, such as:

  • Movement and embodiment practices
  • Sound journeys, authentic singing and deep listening
  • Creative corners for drawing, writing, crafting, or dreaming
  • Time in nature and spontaneous walks
  • Shared meals and conversations
  • Quiet spaces for reading, resting, or napping
  • Optional collective moments of reflection
  • Music, sound, and simple rituals of presence

Most importantly, there will be plenty of time to be.

You are welcome to join activities, wander alone, take a nap, stare at the sky, or simply enjoy being.

This gathering is especially created for women who spend much of their energy caring, creating, organizing, facilitating, teaching, supporting, producing, or holding space for others.

Artists.
Educators.
Community builders.
Mothers.
Caregivers.
Facilitators.

Dreamers.

And anyone who feels called to slow down and reconnect with themselves through simplicity and presence.

Doing nothing is not about inactivity.

It is about creating enough space for life to catch up with us.

When we pause, something shifts.
The nervous system softens.
Creativity returns.
The body begins to speak.
New perspectives emerge.

We believe that rest is not a luxury.
It is a creative, relational, and cultural practice.

We will stay together in a rural homestead, thoughtfully reimagined as a space for rest, creative living, collective care, and connection. Nestled among meadows and forests, it invites us to slow down and attune to the gentle rhythms of nature simplicity, and one another.

The weekend includes:

Accommodation
Homemade vegetarian meals prepared with care
Tea, coffee, and cacao rituals in between our days
All facilitated activities
Sauna experience

There are 8 indoor sleeping places distributed across several houses on the land. For those who enjoy being even closer to nature, a few camping spots are also available outdoors. If you would like to camp but do not have your own equipment, we can provide basic camping gear.

More practical information about what to bring, sleeping arrangements, transportation, and arrival details will be shared with registered participants.

Saugus Atstumas (“Safe Distance”) is a rural artistic residency and experimental cultural space located in the countryside of Anykščiai district, Lithuania. Surrounded by meadows, forests, and open skies, it offers a welcoming environment for rest, creativity, reflection, and community life.

Originally created as a response to the need for slower and more meaningful ways of gathering, Saugus Atstumas hosts artists, researchers, facilitators, and community initiatives (festivals, workshops, trainings, events) exploring embodiment, ecology, collective care, and creative experimentation.

The venue includes shared indoor and outdoor spaces, simple accommodation, and a landscape that naturally invites walking, dreaming, resting, and reconnecting with the rhythms of nature.

For this weekend, Saugus Atstumas becomes our temporary home 🏡 a place to slow down, breathe, and practice the art of doing nothing together. 🌾✨

Carolina Itzel is a movement artist, facilitator, bodyworker, and co-creator of Dancing Sounds. With a background in design, education, and the arts, she has spent the last decade creating participatory spaces that weave embodiment, creativity, and community. Through transformative dance, somatic practices, and creative facilitation, she supports individuals and groups in reconnecting with themselves, their bodies, and the joy of being fully alive.

Eglė creates spaces where people reconnect with themselves, with others, with nature, and with what truly matters. Coming from a background in strategy, sustainability, community building, and systems facilitation, she has spent years supporting people and groups through change, collective processes, and moments of reconnection and creating conditions for more clarity, movement, and aliveness.

Alongside this path, Eglė has been exploring voice, movement, embodiment, and creative practices as ways of returning to presence, authenticity, and deeper listening. Music has accompanied her since childhood, gradually becoming a pathway back to oneself, to others, and to life itself.

We wish to make this gathering accessible while fairly supporting the people, food, care, and infrastructure that make it possible.
